VITAL SEVICES
I believe a county is stronger when we prioritize the foundation of our community such as firefighting, education, sheriff, EMT, and road & bridge. Making wise investments in education and supporting teachers are priorities for me. If these five services are all well trained, funded, and maintained as well as serving every day in a culture they are excited about, we will retain these professionals that we rely upon.
HOUSING
Affordable housing is essential for fostering vibrant and sustainable communities. By providing options, communities can attract a diverse population, support local businesses, and promote economic growth. Ultimately, affordable housing contributes to social equity and helps create a sense of belonging for all residents.
TOURISM
Tourism is vital to our community as it drives economic growth by creating jobs and supporting local businesses. It fosters cultural exchange, allowing residents and visitors to share experiences and learn from one another. Additionally tourism helps fund public services and infrastructure, enhancing the quality of life for everyone. By welcoming tourists, we strengthen our community's identity and promote a vibrant, diverse environment.
ECONOMY
The economy of a small town is important because it supports local businesses, creates job opportunities, and fosters a sense of community, ensuring the town's growth and sustainability. I would like to work to balance responsible economic growth with the desire to preserve the heritage inherent to local mountain towns.
